Head of Group Accounting (Finance)

Consequently, managing the accounting aspect within our company presents a significant challenge. Currently, we are seeking a candidate to fill the highly crucial role of Head of Group Accounting. What we need from a Head of Group Accounting

• Be responsible for leading and managing the accounting function and financial operations
• Oversee a team of accounting professionals incl. external accountants and collaborate with various stakeholders across the organization
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations
• Oversee the preparation and submission of accurate and timely financial reports, ensuring compliance with local GAAP and international accounting standards
• Coordinate with external auditors and regulatory authorities for audits, tax filings, transfer pricing and other statutory requirements
• Stay updated on changes in accounting regulations and ensure the organisation’s accounting practices remain compliant
• Partner with finance, legal, and executive teams to provide financial insights and support decision-making processes
• Collaborate with business unit leaders to understand their financial needs and align accounting activities to meet their requirements
• Act as a critical point of contact for external stakeholders, including investors, auditors, and regulatory bodies

Core qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. A relevant professional certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA) is highly desirable
• Proven experience (8+ years) in accounting and financial management roles, preferably within venture building, startup ecosystems, or related industries
• Strong knowledge of international accounting standards (IFRS, US GAAP) and local GAAP requirements in the EMEA region
• Experience managing and developing a team of accounting professionals
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across different teams and cultures
• Advanced proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems
• Attention to detail, strong analytical thinking, and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with changing priorities
• English and Czech language, German will be a strong advantage
